An unknown scoundrel masquerading as voluptuous Muvhango actress Phindile Gwala is allegedly wreaking havoc on Facebook.

nonny

The black guard, who impersonated Gwala, has allegedly been hurling insults at the yellow bone actress’s Facebook fans in a bid to damage her brand.

Among the things posted by the rogue on the social media network were notices of false job offers at a retail store and gossip about other celebs, including her colleagues at Muvhango.

In one post, the charlatan posted “Five things you need to know about Macdonald Ndou”, KK in the multilingual soapie.

Desperate to stop the mischief , Gwala, who plays Nonny on the show, allegedly wrote to Facebook mandarins requesting them to delete the page.

This was after being advised to do so by her brief.

But the social network bosses took her from pillar to post.

She also reported the matter to Muvhango bosses, who vowed to help her.

Gwala confirmed an unknown prankster created a phony account using her name and photos, and hurled derogative epithets at her fans and acquaintances.

“I discovered it late last year,” she said. “I tried to report it to Facebook and had no joy. From their response, it looks like they are unable to close that page.”

Gwala said she had no idea who the rogue was.

“I have no suspect and it’s upsetting.”

She confirmed she reported the matter to the soapie’s producers.

Muvhango publicist Amanda Ngudle confirmed the actress reported the matter, but said they were yet to forge a way forward.

“No, we have not intervened but are looking at different options in doing so,” she said.

BRENDA FASSIE BIOPIC: WHO WOULD BE SUITED FOR THE ROLE?

We Have Compiled A List Of Entertainment Personalities Who Would Be Suited In Playing The Role Of Brenda Fassie In A Biopic.

Brenda-fassie_post_detail-300x240

Whilst the world is busy trolling actress Zoe Saldana for her role as the legendary Jazz musician, Nina Simone, we’re bringing it back home and counting down the best actresses who would be suitable in playing the role of South Africa’s most legendary pop superstar, the late Brenda Fassie.

We would love to see a locally produced Brenda Fassie Biopic.

Compiling this list actually proved to be a bit challenging for us, but here are some of the actresses that we think would do justice to Brenda Fassie’s legacy.

Brenda Ngxoli

brenda ngxoli

Brenda was top of mind when we thought of a Brenda Fassie biopic. Brenda Ngxoli’s theatre background and intense performance of Vuyo on SABC 1’s Home Affairs and her role as Gladys on Rockville is a constant reminder to us of how seriously Brenda Ngxoli internalises the characters she plays.

Masasa Mbangeni

masasa

Although some have had the pleasure of watching Masasa perform on a theatre stage, the rest of the nation have witnessed her skill on television as Thembeka on e.tv’s Scandal!. Even though we’ve only seen Masasa on one television platform, we’re sure a Brenda Fassie biopic would be one opportunity Masasa would smash out the park.

Dineo Ranaka

DineosDiary returns in April

Dineo Ranaka might not be an actress, but her feisty personality and no-holds-barred attitude is similar to that of the late singer. With an already successful reality show that displays Dineo’s raw and uncut life, her acting the role of Brenda would be an interesting thing to see.

Kelly Khumalo

kelly kelz

We know that some might be reading this and wondering what on earth we’ve been smoking (nothing, for your information), but we took into consideration Kelly Khumalo’s ability to sing and her I.D.G.A.F attitude towards the media and critics which are personality traits that were similar to that of Brenda Fassie.

AWARD-WINNING hip hop artist, Emtee, might have walked away with a whopping R400 000 prize money at the Metro FM Music Awards last Saturday.

But his Kia Picanto wanted nothing to do with him the night before his big night.

The Roll Up hitmaker, whose real name is Mthembeni Ndevu, was spotted pushing a small Kia Picanto outside the Royal Hotel in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, on Friday.

A few witnesses, who were enjoying drinks at the Royal Hotel, were surprised to see the rapper pushing askorokoro outside the hotel, with a white lady who introduced herself as his manager.

One source said: “Emtee should make sure he uses his winnings wisely because young artists often abuse it.”

The second witness said he didn’t recognise him at first until he saw a black hoodie with his name on it.

“That’s when I realised it was him. I wanted to ask the guy where I could buy that Emtee hoodie, but when I got closer to him and greeted him he responded and asked for help with the car,” said the source.

The third source added: “The lady said he’ll be able to buy a fresh new car.”

After winning, the rapper reportedly said he wanted to build a house for his parents.

When called for comment, Emtee said: “Weeeeeh! Every driver experiences that problem. The car didn’t want to start and we needed a hand to push it. It’s not a big deal.”

Condolences continue to pour in for Koyo Bala.

The 3Sum band member lost his battle with cancer on Monday morning. Scores of people have taken to social media to share how heartbroken they are about the singer’s passing.

One of those people is his best friend, Lerato Kganyago. The TV and radio personality was on most people’s minds after the news about Koyo’s passing broke. The two were very close and were last snapped together (on social media) on the weekend of the Metro FM Music Awards.

Originally reported by Drum magazine, the story alleged that Dabula didn’t want to hug a fan during the Metro FM Music Awards held in Durban about two weeks ago.

Dabula reportedly told the fan that they should go take a good bath and clean up nicely before asking for a hug.

In a lengthy note on Facebook, Dabula has strongly dismissed the report as false. Read for your self below:

Dear Drum and Times Live….

I don’t know why you are spreading falsehood about me… Some say it’s for sales. Some say to try and take away the Joop thing. Some say to destroy me. it’s perfectly okay with me… here I am… but You (no inclusion intended)…. you see, to me the word fan is such an injustice, let people be just that, people. Don’t reduce folk to the word fans. Are they not mothers and fathers? Are they not brothers and sisters to someone? That’s how I see it and in fact that’s how I expect to be seen and treated… Why not? But we are aware of your recklessness past and present and so I do expect you to stay where you are… take what you want… BUT MY KINDNESS AND RESPECT TO PEOPLE STAYS WITH ME

Mapaseka Mokwele accused of breaking up lovers

Prolific television actress Tsholo Monedi-Matshaba dropped a bombshell when she accused radio and telly presenter Mapaseka Mokwele of being one of the reasons she broke up with her baby papa Muvhango actor Dingaan Mokebe

Matshaba said Mokwele, who presents SABC2 showMotswako, phoned Mokebe and told him that she was flirting with her husband, radio and telly presenter Thabo “T-Bose” Mokwele.

Matshaba revealed the startling tidbits on Mapaseka’s radio show Home with Mapaseka Mokwele on Kaya FM on Tuesday evening.

The actress phoned the station and demanded to narrate her side of the story after Mokebe lambasted her on the same show on Monday for allegedly denying him access to their daughter.

She also revealed that she walked out of their “toxic” dalliance because Mokebe was a beast who moered her for no reason.

“At that point even you Mapaseka, you were the point of contention for that abuse to happen. In 2010, I went to abuti Thabo’s show where he was interviewing me and a colleague and at the end of the show he (Mokebe) called me and said you said I was flirting with your husband,” she said.

Mokwele interjected when she wanted to give the sordid details of the alleged flirtation.

“Er listen my darling let me correct a few things for you, let me help you out with something. Let me correct a few things for you. One, it is not my business who interviews who on air my love, I wouldn’t bother, not with anybody and it’s not about … it’s like I wouldn’t go out of my way to do that, so that cannot be true, let’s move that out of the way,” Mokwele said.

Mokwele again interrupted Matshaba when she wanted to continue with the matter.

“Are you going to listen? OK I’m going to make you listen then,” she said and faded her off.

At the start of the interview Matshaba claimed Mokwele was biased against her because she gave Mokebe too much time to discredit her on the show.

“Mapaseka as I’m speaking to you, as I’m trying to explain myself in the five minutes that you gave me you keep cutting me while I’m speaking and you go on air and speak on your own,” said Matshaba.

Matshaba asked why Mokwele did not call her on Monday to give her side of the story. Mokwele said she didn’t have her contact details and said she had asked Mokebe to give them to her but he also did not have them.

Mokebe denied claims that he told Matshaba that Mokwele phoned him and said she was flirting with her husband. “I’m not going to dignify her lies with a response, all I need is my daughter,” he told Sunday World.

Matshaba said she was not happy with how Mokwele treated her on the show and threatened to file a formal complaint to the station manager Greg Maloka and the BCCSA on Monday.

Maloka said he was unable to comment on the matter because the station had not received a formal complaint from anyone.

Attempts to speak to Mokwele drew a blank.

Andile Ncube: ‘My marriage wasn’t horrible’

TV/radio personality Andile Ncube opens up about his failed marriage with starlet Ayanda Thabethe in a new interview.

Talking to Gareth Cliff recently on Cliff Central, Ncube insists that he did not cheat on Thabethe despite all the rumours.

Ncube adds that he does understand why the breakup caused quite a frenzy, because it was a very public relationship and the breakup happened abruptly.

“It was a shock to most people. We had been married for two years. It was what a lot of people thought was ‘amazing, dream marriage this is what I want’. It was what people thought it was Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. It was a shock when out of the blue [we split],” Ncube points out.

Moreover Ncube, who fathered a child with model Rosette Mogomotsi, states that it was not a ‘horrible’ marriage and he can’t wait to get hitched for a second time presented that the right woman comes along.

“My marriage wasn’t horrible. So it’s something I can’t wait to do again, with the right person in a couple of years. The way I had a child was bad, that’s probably why that part of my life I think of a lot before I have another one,” Ncube explains.

Lastly, Ncube reveals that he is single and has been single for the last year or so.

“I’ve been single for the longest time in my whole life. I’ve been single for exactly a year and a month. To replace the most beautiful woman [Ayanda] the world has ever seen is a little tough,” Ncube mentions.

Generations actor Vuyo Dabula talks about working with ‘Mamlambo’

$

0

Generations: The Legacy actor Vuyo Dabula has opened up about working with a snake, commonly referred to as Mamlabo, in the latest controversial storyline on the hit soapie.

Viewers have been glued to their TV screens in the currently storyline, in which Gadaffi’s (Dabula) wife Tshidi (Letoya Makhene) is seen using a snake she calls Mamlambo as a magic wand that turns the impossible into the possible.

But the power of Mamlambo comes with some jaw-dropping terms and conditions in return that the character Gadaffi seems to be struggling to cope with.

“We have subcultures. We have other beliefs as people all throughout the world. That means that for us as storytellers we have so much to tap into. Just for the fact that there is controversy and so much talk around it, it means it’s sort of pulling emotional chords. It is based on what certain people believe in. Besides any belief, it’s a reptile, it’s a snake and some people are afraid of it. So I get the controversy,” Dabula explains.

Perhaps the biggest outcry has come from the Traditional Healers Organisation (THO) that has accused the popular SABC 1 show of the unfair portrayal of African culture and religion.

However, Dabula insists that their aim is not to offend or make a mockery of any cultural belief.

“The controversy will be there, because it is attached to certain African beliefs. Also how we present it we employ a dramatic method that we take as creative beings. Not everything is going to be perfectly or authentically presented,” Dabula clarifies.

The 2016 Mzansi’s Sexiest winner reveals that together with his co-star Makhene they worked closely with a snake-handler beforehand to ease them into better interaction with the reptile.

“I have had experiences with that snake that are amazing; to face fears and be able to handle the snake did something to me. I used to have nightmares about snakes because snakes are scary. But I had to face that fear,” Dabula says.

“Letoya handled the snake beautifully, she had a fabulous time. When they took the snake away from me I kind of missed the experience. Letoya said the same thing. It wasn’t hostile at all.”

So what’s Dabula’s personal belief about using Mamlambo to get an edge over others in the world?

“I for one respect other people’s beliefs. Personally I think there is more to human beings than we know,” Dabula retorts.

A nervous Mshoza, who is dressed in a white robe and sporting bright crimson lips, is heard saying in the video clip:

“Hey, this is Mshoza, the queen of Kwaito. We are about to fix Mshoza and make her look more like Nicki”

At one point in the video Mshoza, who is pinned to a bed, anxiously asks for the presumably plastic surgeon holding a needle in hand to “wait!wait!” before the needle goes into her upper lip and giving her lips a fuller effect as a result.

There was never a time we fought about any girl, he was absolutely respectful towards me in terms of his female fans. Funny enough the female fans just showed me so much respect as well.”- Boity said amidst cheating allegations.

‘Skeem Saam’ to be broadcast in 20 African countries

Skeem Saam is going international.

The popular SABC1 youth soapie has been snapped up for a licensing deal that will see it broadcast in 20 French-speaking African countries. The public broadcaster’s spokes-man Kaizer Kganyago confirmed the ground-breaking rights sale yesterday.

“The SABC licensed certain broadcast rights for Skeem Saam to Canal+Afrique, a French language television channel operator that broadcasts across Francophone Africa. The channel has the right to broadcast the programme through-out the territories in which they operate,” Kganyago said.

The show will be dubbed into French and that’s the only version Canal+Afrique will be allowed to broadcast, Kganyago said.

Canal+Afrique is a major player in digital broadcasting and has a footprint in more than 20 African countries.

Skeem Saam premiered as a weekly drama series in 2011. In 2014, when the popular local soapie Generations ground to a halt, Skeem Saam was given the coveted 8pm primetime slot.

Kganyago said the SABC, as the owner of Skeem Saam, will pay all parties contractually entitled to payment following the sale of the rights to the show. This includes some of the creative staff and the production company.

The SABC maintained that the move was not only commercially viable but also good for the promotion of South African culture on the continent.

“Not only is this an important commercial venture in terms of ensuring the long-term viability of the public broadcaster through diversifying our revenue streams, but it represents an exciting cultural opportunity.

“The SABC has licensed a number of programmes, providing Francophone Africans a window into South African culture,” said Kganyago.

It is believed that this SABC show’s rights are not the only ones to be sold, however details of the licensing rights of other productions are still under wraps.

Skeem Saam spokesman Percy Vilakazi said they still needed to find out which countries would broadcast the drama.

Skeem Saam follows the daily struggles of youngsters in Turfloop, Limpopo, who eventually move to Johannesburg to further their studies.

The show’s popular characters include Leeto and Thabo Maputla.

Leeto’s character is played by Eric Macheru, while Thabo Cornet Mamabolo featured as Thabo Maputla. Mamabolo said they were excited by the move.

“It is a wonderful thing for us as artists. This means more people will see our work. It takes us into the international arena. It might even create opportunities for us in those countries,” he quipped.
